    PennDOT’s Westmoreland County Maintenance Update

    Week of September 28, 2026      

    Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Westmoreland County Maintenance Manager Dave Forkey has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of September 28. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.

    rivers can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

    Edge paving:

    • Route 2017 (Marguerite Road) in Unity Township
    • Route 3093 (Center Avenue) in Hempfield Township

    Pipe flushing:

    • Route 271 in Fairfield Township
    • Route 2016 (Youngstown Ridge Avenue) in Unity Township
    • Route 31 (Glades Pike) in Donegal Township
    • Route 711 in Ligonier Township

    Patching:

    • Various routes in Westmoreland County
    • Route 30 (Lincoln Hwy) in North Huntingdon Township

    Mechanized patching:

    • Route 1008 (Derry Ridge) in Derry Township

    Shoulder cutting:

    • Route 2033 (Bethel Church Road) in Cook Township
    • Route 130 in Cook Township
    • Route 2004 (Austin Boulevard) in Donegal Townshiip

    Road repair:

    • Route 4002 (N. Greengate Road) in Hempfield Township

    Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, and update existing signs, as well as address work orders on various state routes throughout the county. 

    PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

    Travelers can check conditions on major roads by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
