Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Westmoreland County Maintenance Manager Dave Forkey has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of August 24. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.
Drivers can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.
Base repair:
- Route 30 (Between Margurite Road and Sand Hill Road) in Unity Township
- Route 136 (Main Street) in West Newton Borough
Crack sealing:
- Route 981 in Derry Township
Ditching:
- Route 819 (Diamond Street) in Hempfield Township
- Route 3089 (Buttermore Avenue) in East Huntingdon Township
- Route 3021 (Salem Church Road) in Rostraver Township
Inlet adjustment:
- Route 819 in Mt Pleasant Township
Pipe repair/replacement:
- Route 2021 (Mt. Pleasant/Kecksburg Road) in Mt Pleasant Township
- Route 982 in Derry Township
Patching:
- Various routes in Westmoreland County
- Route 30 in North Huntingdon Township
Mechanized patching:
- Route 3089 (Water Street) in East Huntingdon Township
- Route 981 (Church Street) in Mt. Pleasant Township
- Route 1008 (Derry Ridge Road) in Derry Township
Shoulder cutting:
- Various Routes in Murrysville, Upper Burrell, and Washington townships
- Route 1063 (Fenneltown Road) in Salem Township
- Route 1065 (Nelson Road/St. James Church Road) in Salem Township
- Route 4061 (Washington Road) in Washington Township
- Route 4071 (Pine Run Road) in Washington Township
- Route 4067 (Pine Run Road) in Washington Township
- Route 4032 (Camp Nancy Road) in Upper Burrell Township
- Route 4065 (Upper Drennen Road) in Upper Burrell Township

Road repair:
- Route 4002 (North Greengate Road) in Hempfield Township
Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, and update existing signs, as well as address work orders on various state routes throughout the county.

Travelers can check conditions on major roads by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
