PennDOT’s Washington County Maintenance Update

Week of June 29, 2026

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Washington County Maintenance Manager Brian Malik has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of June 29. All maintenance activities are dependent on weather and operations.

Drivers can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Brush cutting:

  • Route 2022 (Patterson Run Road) in West Bethlehem Township
  • Route 2050 (Robinson Road) in North Bethlehem Township
  • Route 3008 (Jolly School Road) in South Franklin Township

Bridge replacement:

  • Route 331  (Brush Run Road) in Canton Township
    • Road closed between Maple Road and Jefferson Avenue
      • Detour:
        • Brush Run Road
        • Jefferson Avenue
        • Scenic Drive

Culvert replacement:

  • Route 4037 (Noblestown Road) in Robinson Township
    • Road closed between Route 980 and Route 4012 (Johns Avenue)
      • Detour:

Mowing:

  • Route 22 Ramp 8046 in Hanover Township
  • Interstate 70 Ramp 8014 (Jefferson Avenue) in the City of Washington
  • Route 221 (S Bridge Road) in Buffalo Township
  • Route 837 Ramp 8025 in Donora Borough

Rock lining:

  • Route 136 (Main Street) Somerset Township

Patching:

  • Various routes in Washington County

Slide Repair:

  • Route 2038 (Clover Hill Road) in California Borough
    • Road closed between SR 481 (Scenic Drive) and Route 2079 (South Ridge Road)
      • Detour:
        • Route 481 (Scenic Drive)
        • Route 2030 (California Drive)
        • Route 2079 (South Ridge Road)

Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, update existing signs, and address work orders on various state routes throughout the county. 

PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

Travelers can check conditions on major roads by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts
