    PennDOT’s Washington County Maintenance Update

    Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Acting Washington County Maintenance Manager Brian Malik has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of April 20. All maintenance activities are dependent on weather and operations.

    Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.         

    Brush cutting:

    • Route 2050 (Robinson Road) in North Bethlehem Township

    Crack sealing:

    • Route 1018 (Fourth Stret) in Carroll Townships and the City of Monongahela
    • Route 1024 (Second Street Extension) in Donora Borough
    • Route 1071 (Hazel Kirk Road) in Carroll Township
    • Route 1077 (Vance Deicas Highway) in Carroll Township
    • Route 2012 (Walnut Ridge Road) in Fallowfield Township and Charleroi Borough
    • Route 2016 (Old Route 71 Road) in Fallowfield Township and Charleroi Borough

    Ditch line cleaning:

    • Various routes in Washington County

    Litter removal:

    • Interstate 79 in Cecil, Chartiers, North Strabane and South Strabane townships

    Mowing:

    • Route 22 Ramp 8046 in Hanover Township

    Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, update existing signs, and address work orders on various state routes throughout the county. 

    PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

    Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, available free of charge 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to over 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices by calling 5-1-1 or following regional X alerts.
