Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Fayette County Maintenance Manager Jason L. Spangler has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of May 11. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.
Drivers can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.
Brushing:
- Route 2017 (Maple Summit Road) in Stewart Township
- Route 1062 (Cranberry Lake Road) in Springfield Township
- Route 3012 (York Run Road) in Georges Township
- Route 3009 (Old Frame Road) in Nicholson Township
- Route 4044 (Johnson Hollow Road) in Washington Township
- Route 4019 (Redstone Church Road) in Redstone Township
Side dozing:
- Route 1043 (Bittner Road) in Franklin Township
- Route 1045 (Cottom Road) in Franklin Township
- Route 1047 (Little Summit Road) in Dunbar Township
Seal coating:
- Route 2021 (Jumonville Road) in North Union Township
- Route 2001 (Skyline Drive) in Wharton Township
- Route 3027 (Hopwood Fairchance Road) in North & South Union townships
Ditch cleaning:
- Route 1002 (Banning Road) in Lower Tyrone & Perry townships
Pipe and inlet cleaning:
- Route 40 (National Pike) in Wharton & Henry Clay townships
Drainage repair:
- Route 119 (Memorial Boulevard) in City of Connellsville
Bridge replacement:
- Route 1051 (Breakneck Road) in Saltlick Township
- Road closed between Sand Pit Road and White Road

Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, and update existing signs, as well as address work orders on various state routes throughout the county.
PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.
Drivers can check conditions on major roads by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
