PennDOT’s Fayette County Maintenance Update

Week of June 1, 2026

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Fayette County Maintenance Manager Jason L. Spangler has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of June 1. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.

Drivers can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Brush cutting:

  • Various routes in Stewarts, Springfield, and Saltlick townships.

Seal coating:

  • Route 3012 (York Run Road/ Leckrone Highhouse Road) in German Township.

Side dozing:

  • Route 1039 (Leisenring Vanderbilt Road) in Dunbar Township.
  • Route 1051 (Crawford Avenue) in Dunbar Township.
  • Route 1047 (Little Summit/Monarch Road) in Dunbar Township.

Ditch cleaning:

  • Route 1002 (Banning Road) in Perry Township.

Sweeping and inlet cleaning:

  • Various routes in Wharton, Henry Clay, and Stewart townships.

Bridge replacement:

  • Route 1051 (Breakneck Road) in Saltlick Township   
    • Road closed between Sand Pit Road and White Road   
      • Detour:    
        • Quail Hill Road   
        • Buchanan Road   
        • White Road  

Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, and update existing signs, as well as address work orders on various state routes throughout the county. 

PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

Drivers can check conditions on major roads by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts
