PennDOT’s Fayette County Maintenance Update

Week of August 24, 2026

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Fayette County Maintenance Manager Jason L. Spangler has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of August 24. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.

Drivers can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Brush cutting:

  • Various routes in Lower Tyrone, Georges, Henry Clay, Stewart, Springfield townships, and the Farmington area

Inlet cleaning:

  • Various Routes in Georges and Henry Clay townships, and the Farmington area

Side dozing:

  • Route 711 in Springfield Township

Shoulder cutting:

  • Route 1049 (Eighty Acres Road) in Dunbar Township
  • Route 1039 (Leisenring Vanderbilt Road) in Dunbar Township
  • Route 1053 (Arch Bridge Road) Dunbar Township

Base repair:

  • Route 4004 (Ralph/ New Salem Road) in German and Redstone townships
  • Route 4002 Hibbs Road) in German and Redstone townships
  • Route 3013 (Adah/Palmer Road) in German and Redstone townships
  • Route 4010 (Fairbanks Herbert Road) in German and Redstone townships

Bridge replacement:

  • Route 1009 (White Road) in Saltlick Township

Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, and update existing signs, as well as address work orders on various state routes throughout the county. 

PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

Travelers can check conditions on major roads by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts
