PennDOT’s Fayette County Maintenance Update

Week of April 20, 2026

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Fayette County Maintenance Manager Jason L. Spangler has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of April 20. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.

Drivers can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Patching:

  • Route 2040 (Main & Fayette Streets) in Uniontown

Drainage Issues:

  • Route 2017 (Clay Run Road/ Maple Summit) in Springfield Township
  • Route 2012 (Sugarloaf Road) in Stewart Township

Shoulder repair:

  • Route 3008 (Willow Grove Road) in Nicholson Township

Side dozing:

  • Route 1051 (Bute Road/West Crawford) in North Union and Dunbar townships
  • Route 1047 (Monarch Road/ Little Summit) in Dunbar Township

Seal coating:

  • Route 1055 (Lemont Furnace & Dunbar Ohiopyle Road) in North Union and Dunbar townships, and Mt. Braddock

Ditch cleaning:

  • Route 1002 (Banning Road) in Lower Tyrone Township

Bridge replacement:

  • Route 1051 (Breakneck Road) in Bullskin Township

Sign upgrading:

  • Various routes within the county

Crews will pick litter, replace downed signs, and update existing signs, as well as address work orders on various state routes throughout the county. 

PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

Drivers can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts
