In-Person Public Meeting Announced for I-70/Route 201 Interchange PEL Study in Westmoreland County

Meeting materials will be available online for those unable to attend.

Uniontown, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT’s) Engineering District 12, and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), invites the public to attend an open-house format public meeting to review and provide feedback on the I-70/Route 201 Interchange Planning and Environment Linkages (PEL) Study in North Belle Vernon Borough and Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County.

The study will identify transportation needs, evaluate existing conditions, and gather community feedback to help inform future improvements at the I-70/Route 201 Interchange and the surrounding roadway network.

The in-person Public Plans Display will be an open house format and will feature a series of informational stations presenting the PEL Study process, study area overview, traffic information, environmental features, draft purpose and need, and public outreach opportunities. No formal presentation will be given but attendees will have an opportunity to interact directly with study team members at each station and provide their own feedback regarding the needs and study area. A narrated and captioned presentation will be available on a continuous loop throughout the duration of the meeting.

For those unable to attend in person, meeting materials will be available on PennDOT’s District 12 website under the Projects Near You section; Home - I-70 Projects. A comment form will also be available online, with the public comment period open from October 14 through October 28.

The in-person public meeting location complies with requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act and is accessible to individuals who have disabilities. The project documents will be made available in alternative languages or formats if requested.
