In-Person Public Meeting Announced for 2026 Fayette County Epoxy Overlay Project

Meeting materials will be available online for those unable to attend

Uniontown, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT’s) Engineering District 12 invites the public to attend an open-house format public meeting to review and provide feedback on the 2026 Fayette County Epoxy Overlay Project.

This project will add a 3/8-inch epoxy overlay and new pavement markings on four Fayette County bridges. Additional work varies to each specific bridge. The bridges included in the project are:

  1. Route 51 over Route 119 – Pittsburgh Street, North Union Township.
  2. Route 21 over Route 119 – McClellandtown Road, South Union Township.
  3. Route 40 over Route 43 – Redstone Way, Redstone Township.
  4. Route 119 over Route 43 – Morgantown Road, Georges Township.

Traffic will be maintained with short-term lane closures for Route 21, Route 40, and Route 119. A weekend detour will be used for Route 51.

The in-person Public Plans Display will be held in an open-house, come-and-go format with no formal presentation. Project team members will be available throughout the event to answer questions and gather feedback. Information will be provided on the proposed improvements, potential impacts, final design plans, traffic control during construction, and the anticipated design and construction schedule.

For those unable to attend in person, meeting materials will be available on PennDOT’s District 12 website under the Projects Near You section; 2026 Fayette County Epoxy Overlay Project, from March 24 through the duration of the project. A comment form will also be available online, with the public comment period open from March 24 through April 7.

The in-person public meeting location complies with requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act and is accessible to individuals who have disabilities.
