District 12 Roadway Closures Due to Downed Trees and Utilities – 10:00 AM UPDATE

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing that portions of the following state roadways are currently closed:

Washington County

  • Route 980 between Route 50 and Swihart Road due to a downed utility.
  • Route 2023 (Grange Road) at Route 481 due to a downed utility.

Westmoreland County

  • Route 711 between Darlington Rector Road and Route 30 due to downed trees and utilities.
  • Route 819 between Northmont Street and Eastview Avenue due to a downed tree.
  • Route 1044 (Mt. Carmel Road) between State Park Road and Strawcutter Road due to a downed tree and utility.

As issues are addressed, roadways will be reopened as soon as they are safe.

Drivers are reminded to:

  • Avoid driving through areas where trees, limbs, or wires are down.
  • Never approach or drive over downed utility lines.
  • Obey all posted signs, barricades, and traffic controls.
  • Reduce speed and remain alert for debris on the roadway. 
  • Allow extra time for travel.
