Route 4051 Jessop Place Bridge Rehabilitation Begins Tuesday in Washington County

Uniontown, PA—Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing that a portion of Route 4051 (Jessop Place), between Route 4051 (Green Street) and Route 4022 (Weirich Avenue) in Canton Township, Washington County, will close beginning Tuesday, September 2.

A detour will be posted using Green Street, Caldwell Avenue, and Weirich Avenue.

The closure is expected to remain in place through September, weather and operational permitting.

Crews from Gulisek Construction LLC will be rehabilitating the bridge that carries Jessop Place over Chartiers Creek. Work includes overlaying the existing deck surface with a latex-modified concrete, repairing the substructure and sidewalk, and milling and asphalt overlaying the approaches.

This job is part of a $3.13 million infrastructure investment in a larger hydro/latex bridge deck preservation project to extend the life of six structures in:

Westmoreland County (4):

  • Route 119 over Southwest PA Railroad and Thermo Village Road in Hempfield Township (2 structures).
  • Route 217 (Millwood Street) over McGee Run in Derry Township - complete
  • Route 993 (Water Street) over Brush Creek in North Huntingdon Township

Washington County (2):

  • Route 2020 (Main Street) over Tenmile Creek in West Bethlehem Township and Marianna Borough
  • Route 4051 (Jessop Place) over Chartiers Creek in Canton Township
