Route 4038 Layton Road Bridge Reopened in Fayette County

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing the reopening of Layton Bridge, which carries Route 4038 (Layton Road) over the Youghiogheny River, in Perry Township, Fayette County.

Layton Bridge closed to traffic June 16 between Falbo Road and Circle Street for a routine inspection of the bridge, replacement work of an expansion dam on span 1, as well as other miscellaneous preservation work. The bridge reopened to traffic, as planned, for the Independence Day holiday weekend at 5 p.m. Thursday, July 3.

The bridge was scheduled to reclose following the Independence Day holiday weekend through the end of July. However, crews were able to complete the work ahead of schedule and the bridge will remain open to traffic.

Information on PennDOT’s Layton Bridge Projects is available on District 12’s Design and Construction Projects page.
