    PennDOT’s Fayette County Maintenance Update

    Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Fayette County Maintenance Manager Jason L. Spangler has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of September 29. All maintenance activities depend on weather and operations.

    Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

    Bridge replacement:

    • Route 4032 (Bolden Road) in Franklin Township
      • Between Cooper Road and Route 1016 (Saw Mill Road)
      • Posted detour:
        • Route 1016 (Saw Mill Road)
        • Route 1043 (Bitner Road)
        • Route 4013 (Strong Road)

    Base repair:

    • Route 2001 (Skyline Drive) in Wharton Township
    • Route 2021 (Jumonville Road) in North Union Township
    • Route 2023 (Hopwood Coolspring Road) in North Union Township

    Boom mowing:

    • Route 3013 (Palmer Adah Road) in Luzerne Township

    Ditch cleaning:

    • Route 1050 (Quail Hill and Buchanan Road) in Bullskin and Saltlick townships
    • Route 1051 (Breakneck Road) in Bullskin and Saltlick Townships

    Inlet repair:

    • Route 119 (University Drive) in Dunbar Township

    Shoulder repair:

    • Route 166 (New Geneva Road) in Nicholson Township

    Crews will pick litter, replace downed and update signs, and address work orders on various state routes countywide. 

    PennDOT has a toll-free number—1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)—for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

    Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, available free of charge 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to over 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices by calling 5-1-1 or following regional X alerts.
