High Street/Edmon Road Reconstruction Begins Monday in Armstrong County

Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing that a single-lane restriction will occur on High Street/Route 2047 (Edmon Road) in Kiskiminetas Township, Armstrong County beginning Monday, June 30 weather permitting.

High Street/Route 2047 (Edmon Road) will be reduced to a single-lane of traffic controlled by flaggers beginning at approximately 7 a.m. Monday, June 30 around-the-clock, as needed, through mid-July. These restrictions will be in place to allow crews to conduct full-depth pavement reconstruction work.

All work depends on weather and operations.

This work is part of the $33.2 million infrastructure investment to replace the Edmon/Salina Bridge, which carries Route 1060 (Bridge Street) over the Kiskiminetas River and Norfolk Southern Railroad between Bell Township, Westmoreland County and Kiskiminetas Township, Armstrong County. The new superstructure will be a three-span continuous composite steel plate girder bridge on a new alignment located immediately downstream from the existing bridge. Mekis Construction is the prime contractor.

Construction is anticipated to continue through late 2026 and the current bridge will remain open throughout the entire project. Please see the Salina Bridge Replacement Project page on our website – under Design and Construction Projects section, Westmoreland County tile – for additional information.
