Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing that Route 2001 (South Main Street) will be closed between Route 18 (Park Avenue) to East Prospect Avenue in the City of Washington, Washington County, began Monday, September 8 will be extended until Friday, September 26.
During the closure motorists should follow the posted detour using Route 18, Route 40, Route 19, Sanitarium Road to Route 2001.
Following the closure, single-lane restrictions are anticipated from Monday, September 29 to Friday, October 24.
Golden Triangle Construction Company, is working on behalf of the Pennsylvania American Water Company, will relocate water main lines ahead of the upcoming Route 2001/Route 18 Over Catfish Creek Bridge Replacement Project, scheduled to begin in Spring 2026.
Motorists should remain alert and use caution when traveling through the area.
