Route 1051 Bute Road Closure Scheduled Next Week in Fayette County

​Uniontown, PA – PennDOT District 12 is advising motorists that a portion of Route 1051 (Bute Road) will be closed to traffic between the southbound Route 119 on and off ramps and the northbound Route 119 on and off ramps in North Union Township, Fayette County. The closure is scheduled to begin on Wednesday July 5 and is anticipated to remain in place through late July, weather and operational dependent.

The closure will be in place to allow crews to apply latex overlay to the bridge deck.

Southbound Route 1051 detour (Bute Road):

  • Make a right onto southbound Route 119

  • Take Route 51 (Pittsburgh Street) exit

  • Make a left onto southbound Route 51 (Pittsburgh Street)

  • Make a left onto northbound Route 119 

  • Take Gallatin Avenue exit to access the south side of the bridge or continue traveling on northbound Route 119

Northbound Route 1051 detour (Bute Road):

  • Make a right onto northbound Route 119

  • Take Connellsville Street exit

  • Make a right onto North Gallatin Avenue Extension

  • Make a right onto Bethelboro Road

  • Make a right onto southbound Route 119

  • Take Gallatin Avenue exit to access the north side of the bridge or continue traveling on southbound Route 119

Crews from Swank Construction will be performing the work. 

This work is part of a $2.4 million bridge preservation project that includes installation of latex concrete overlay on five different bridges throughout Fayette County and other bridge repair work. The project is anticipated to be complete in late 2023.
