    PennDOT’s Washington County Maintenance Update

    July 13, 2023

    ​Uniontown, PA – Washington County Maintenance Manager, Susan Howard, announced the following tentative work plan for the week of July 17, 2023. All maintenance activities are conducted on a weather-permitting and operational basis.

    During county maintenance work activities motorists should expect to encounter flaggers, single-lane restrictions, moving operations, and detours. Motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the usage of headlights.

    Shoulder Crew is scheduled for:

    • Route 40 (National Pike, Main Street, and Chestnut Street) in Donegal Township, Claysville Borough, Buffalo Township, Canton Township, City of Washington

    • Route 3025 (Good Intent Road, Tollgate Road) in West Finley and Donegal Townships

    • Route 3029 (Burnsville Ridge Road and Pleasant Grove Road) in West Finley and East Finley and South Franklin Townships

    • Route 231 (East Finley Drive, Wayne Street, and North Road) in East Finley Township, Claysville Borough, Donegal Township and Blaine Townships

    • Route 3045 (Fraction Road) in West Finley Township

    • Route 3035 (Rocky Run Road, Craftcreek Road) in West Finely, East Finely and Morris Townships

    Patching is scheduled for:

    • Route 70 in Canton Township

    • Route 221 (S. Bridge Road, Green Valley Road, and Buffalo Creek Road) in Morris, South Franklin, and Buffalo Townships

    • Route 231 (East Finley Drive, North Road) in East Finley, Blaine, and Donegal Townships   

    Seal Coating is scheduled for:

    • Route 4004 (Pennsylvania Avenue, Steubenville Road, Bavington Road) in Hanover and Robinson Township

    • Route 4002 (Clinton Frankfort Road) in Hanover and Robinson Townships

    • Route 4001 (Robinson Church Road) in Robinson Township

    Bridge Repair Crew is scheduled for:

    • Route 231 (East Finley Drive) in East Finley Township

    • Route 3021 (McGuffey Road) in West Finley Township

     Pipe Trench Patching is scheduled for:

    • Route 2005 (Brush Run Road) in Amwell and North Bethlehem Township

    • Route 2007 (Banetown Road and Scenic Drive) in Amwell and North Franklin Townships

     Mowing Crew is scheduled for: 

    • Interstate 70, Ramp 8025 (Donora) and Ramp 8014 (Jefferson Avenue)

    • Route 519 Park and Ride, (Ramp 9503 and 9501) in North Strabane Township

    • Route 79 Park and Ride, (Ramp 9504- Beau Street) in South Strabane Township

    • Route 22, (Ramp 8046) in the Starlake Area

    • Route 221, (South Bridge Road) in Claysville Borough

     Slide crew is scheduled for:

    • State Route 3035 (Rocky Run Road) in East and West Finley Townships

     Pipe Flushing is scheduled for:

    • Route 2024 (Crawford Road) in Deemston Borough

    • Route 2039 (Main Street) in East Bethlehem Township

     Pipe Cleaning is scheduled for:

    • Route 2039 (Main Street) in East Bethlehem Township

     Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.

    Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the County.

    PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern.  This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways.  The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623). 

    Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 

    511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts.
