Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing that Beaver Grade Road (Route 3077) in Moon Township, Allegheny County has reopened to traffic.
A portion of Beaver Grade Road between Duckhorn Road and Montour Run Road closed to traffic on January 26, 2024 due to a slide.
Emergency slide repair work on this approximate $5.3 million project included slope repair using 52,000 tons of rock material to stabilize the hillside, 144 micropiles drilled into the rock buttress, and the addition of topsoil and grass to the hillside. Additional work included roadway realignment to accommodate the new rock slope, approximately 1,100 feet of paving, drainage improvements, and several hundred feet of concrete barrier installation.
Allison Park Contractors, Inc. was the prime contractor on the project.
