Southbound Interstate 79 Structure Painting Next Week in Collier Township

Allegheny County-owned Thoms Run Road overnight closures to occur.

Pittsburgh, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing painting activities on the southbound I-79 structure over Thoms Run Road in Collier Township, Allegheny County will occur Tuesday through Thursday nights, July 21-23 weather permitting.

To accommodate painting activities on the structure carrying southbound I-79 over Thoms Run Road, Thoms Run Road will close to traffic from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM each night. Traffic will be detoured.

All traffic will be detoured via Washington Pike (Route 50) and Prestley Road (Route 3031).

Please stay alert and drive cautiously – safety is everyone’s responsibility.
