Pittsburgh, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing a phase change on Montour Run Road (Route 3072) in Moon Township, Allegheny County will begin on Friday, August 7 weather permitting.
Beginning Friday morning at 8:00 AM, single-lane alternating traffic restrictions controlled by flaggers will occur on Montour Run Road between I-376 and Hookstown Grade Road while crews work to shift eastbound traffic onto the new widened pavement and westbound traffic onto the right-hand shoulder.
During this phase of work, short-term single-lane restrictions will occur, as needed, on Montour Run Road between I-376 and Hookstown Grade Road according to the following schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
- Saturday and Sunday
- Restrictions can occur, as needed, except between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM
Additionally, Market Place Boulevard will be reduced to a single-lane of traffic in each direction between Montour Run Road and Scott Boulevard.
The traffic restrictions above will remain in place around-the-clock through early October as crews continue to conduct road improvement work.
The work is part of a $6.29 million Market Place District Improvement project sponsored by the Moon Transportation Authority. The project includes drainage upgrades, signal improvements, milling and paving, guiderail updates, roadway widening, and pavement marking installation work. Mele & Mele & Son’s, Inc. is the prime contractor.
