Route 3027 Smithfield Street Bridge Inspection Work Begins Monday in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing inspection work on the Smithfield Street Bridge which carries Route 3027 over the Monongahela River in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County will occur Monday through Friday, August 10-14 weather permitting.

Crews from GFT will conduct the inspection work requiring lane restrictions in each direction from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day. The bridge and all ramps will remain open to traffic during inspection activities.

Drivers should be prepared for changing traffic patterns. Please use caution if traveling on this bridge. Work zone safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Travelers can check conditions on major roads by visiting 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
