    Route 2083 Braddock Avenue Improvement Project Begins Thursday in Allegheny County

    Pittsburgh, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing improvement work on Braddock Avenue (Route 2083) in East Pittsburgh Borough, Allegheny County will begin Thursday, July 30 weather permitting.

    Beginning at approximately 8:00 AM Thursday, the following restrictions will occur through the end of the year as crews conduct base repair work and milling and paving operations:

    • There will be an around-the-clock single-lane restriction in both directions of the four-lane section of Braddock Avenue between Cable Avenue and just north of O’Connell Boulevard.
    • Traffic will be reduced to a single-lane of alternating traffic controlled by flaggers from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily, as needed, within the two-lane section of Braddock Avenue between Cable Avenue and just north of O’Connell Boulevard.

    Please use caution if traveling through the area. Work zone safety is everyone’s responsibility.

    The prime contractor is A. Liberoni, Inc. on this $8.51 million group paving project. Improvement work includes milling and paving, drainage upgrades, base repair, pavement marking installation, guide rail improvements, and other various construction related activities.
