Pittsburgh, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing ramp closures as part of the Route 2040 (Lebanon Church Road, Curry Hollow Road) project in West Mifflin and Pleasant Hills boroughs, Allegheny County will begin Tuesday, October 6 weather permitting.
Beginning at approximately 6:00 AM Tuesday, the following ramps will close to traffic around-the-clock through 11:59 PM Thursday, October 15:
- Westbound Lebanon Church Road to northbound Route 51 (Clairton Boulevard)
- Northbound Route 51 (Clairton Boulevard) to westbound Curry Hollow Road toward South Park
These closures are to accommodate median reconstruction, concrete curb work, road widening, and sidewalk repairs. Traffic will be detoured.

- Continue on Lebanon Church Road past the closed ramp
- Take the ramp to southbound Route 51 toward Clairton
- From southbound Route 51, take the ramp to Lebanon Church Road toward McKeesport/West Mifflin
- From westbound Lebanon Church Road, take the ramp to northbound Route 51
- End detour
Northbound Route 51 to westbound Curry Hollow Road toward South Park
- Continue on northbound Route 51 past the closed ramp
- Turn right onto Streets Run Road (Route 2046)
- Bear right to remain on Street Run Road (Route 2046)
- Turn right onto Delwar Road (Route 2047)
- Turn right onto westbound Lebanon Church Road
- End detour
Green Drive to westbound Curry Hollow Road
- From Green Drive, turn right onto eastbound Curry Hollow Road
- Take the ramp to northbound Route 51
- Turn right onto Streets Run Road (Route 2046)
- Bear right to remain on Street Run Road (Route 2046)
- Turn right onto Delwar Road (Route 2047)
- Turn right onto westbound Lebanon Church Road
- End detour
Work on this $28.16 million betterment project includes widening, milling and paving, concrete patching, drainage improvements, signal upgrades, and guide rail updates will occur between Broughton Road in South Park Township and Ceco Drive in West Mifflin Borough. The project will occur in phases and require short-term and long-term lane closures, weekend lane restrictions, and a short-term ramp detour at the Route 51 interchange. The overall project is anticipated to be completed in the summer of 2027.
