Route 18 Restrictions Begin Monday in New Castle

Pittsburgh, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing lane restrictions on Route 18 (Mahoning Avenue, Moravia Street, South Jefferson Street, North Jefferson Street) in the City of New Castle, Lawrence County will resume Monday, March 16 weather permitting.

Lane restrictions will occur daily through late May in the following locations:

·       Route 18 from Route 108 to Moravia Street from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

·       Route 18 from Moravia Street to Boyles Avenue from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM

2026 work on this $13.2 million project includes concrete curb improvements, ADA curb ramp installation, drainage upgrades, asphalt patching, minor structure work, pavement markings, and other miscellaneous construction activities. The project is expected to conclude in late spring.

Crews from Lindy Paving will conduct the work.
