Overnight Bridge Washing Activities Begin Tonight in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing washing activities on various bridges in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County will begin tonight, Monday, June 29 weather permitting.

Bridge washing operations requiring lane restrictions will occur from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM weeknights through mid-July. Crews from Michael Facchiano Contracting will conduct the washing activities requiring lane restrictions on the following structures:

  • Northbound I-279 (Parkway North) ramp to north 28 Chestnut Street/East Ohio Street/Etna (Exit 1D)
  • Southbound Route 65 ramp to northbound I-279 (Parkway North)
  • Southbound I-279 ramp to North Shore (Exit 1B)
  • Southbound I-279 ramp to North 65 toward Ohio River Boulevard (Exit 1C)

Additional restrictions may occur on associated ramps and intersections. Please stay alert and drive cautiously – safety is everyone’s responsibility.
