Overnight Bridge Washing Activities Begin Next Week in Allegheny County

Pittsburgh, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing washing activities on various bridges over the Allegheny River in Allegheny County will begin Monday night, May 18 weather permitting.

Bridge washing operations requiring lane restrictions will occur from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM weeknights through mid-May. Crews from Green Acres Contracting will conduct the washing activities requiring lane restrictions on the following bridges:

  • Highland Park Bridge (Route 1005) in the City of Pittsburgh, Sharpsburg Borough, and O’Hara Township
  • Hulton Bridge (Route 2082) in Oakmont Borough and Harmar Township
  • New Kensington Bridge in East Deer Township in Allegheny County and the City of New Kensington in Westmoreland County

Additional restrictions may occur on associated ramps and intersections. Please stay alert and drive cautiously – safety is everyone’s responsibility.
