Pittsburgh, PA –The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing closures of the outbound I-279 and I-579 High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes in the City of Pittsburgh and Ross Township, Allegheny County will continue Monday night, August 10 weather permitting.
To ensure work zone safety at the Jacks Run Road Bridge, the HOV lanes will close to traffic in the outbound (northbound) direction according to the following schedule:
Monday through Wednesday nights, August 10-12
- Each night from 8:00 PM until the directional switch is made for the morning rush hour
Saturday night, August 15
- Approximately two hours after the end of the Pittsburgh Pirates game (or 9:00 PM if the game is postponed) until 10:00 AM Saturday morning
The HOV lanes will return to normal operations outside of the closures listed above.
As a reminder, the HOV lanes will close to traffic in the outbound (northbound) direction each night Friday and Saturday, August 7-8, approximately two hours after the end of the Pittsburgh Pirates game (or 9:00 PM if the game is postponed) until 10:00 AM the next morning.
