Pittsburgh, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing inspection activities requiring lane restrictions on various roads and ramps in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County will begin Monday, August 24 weather permitting.
To accommodate inspection and sounding activities, the following roads and ramps will have restrictions from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day through Friday, August 28:
- A traffic shift and shoulder restriction will occur on the Bigelow Boulevard ramp to north I-579/Veterans Bridge
- A traffic shift and shoulder restriction will occur on the ramp from 7th Avenue to southbound I-579
- Northbound I-579 will have lane restrictions between the PPG Arena/Center Avenue off-ramp and the Veterans Bridge
- Southbound I-579 will have lane restrictions between the Veterans Bridge and the PPG Arena/Center Avenue and the east I-376/Oakland/Monroeville off-ramps
Crews from GFT will conduct the inspection and sounding work.
