Pittsburgh, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing lane restrictions on I-376 (Parkway East) in the Municipality of Monroeville, Allegheny County will continue Saturday, May 30 weather permitting.
Base repairs, roadway milling, and paving operations will occur between the Monroeville/Plum (Exit 84 A/B) and Penn Hills (Exit 81) interchanges according to the following schedule:
· Saturday, May 30 – Base repair work requiring a single-lane restriction will occur from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM. Work will begin in the eastbound direction and continue in the westbound direction as time permits.
· Sunday, May 31 – Milling work requiring a single-lane and shoulder closure will occur on eastbound I-376 from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
· Monday through Friday nights, June 1-5 – I-376 will be reduced to a single-lane of traffic in both directions each night from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM for paving preparation work.
· Saturday, June 6 - I-376 will be reduced to a single-lane of traffic in the eastbound direction from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM to allow crews to conduct paving operations.
Westbound I-376 milling and paving work is anticipated to occur the weekend of June 12-15. Additional details will be provided in advance of any work occurring.
This work is part of the $70.1 million I-376 Parkway East Betterment Project. Work will include a superstructure replacement over Old William Penn Highway, two bridge rehabilitations over Old William Penn Highway/Lougeay Road/Sunset Drive and Thompson Run Road/Thompson Run/Union Railroad, and six bridge preservations along the I-376. Throughout the project motorists can expect long-term single-lane restrictions, several weekends with traffic down to a single lane, and a long-term crossover in 2025. The improvements on the 4.5 miles of the Parkway East between the Churchill/Route 130 (Exit 79B) and Monroeville/Route 48 (Exit 84A) exit are anticipated to conclude in the fall 2026. Swank Construction Company, LLC is the prime contractor.
