Pittsburgh, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing washing activities on various bridges in Allegheny County will begin today, Monday, June 1 weather permitting.
Bridge washing operations requiring lane restrictions will occur from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM weekdays through late June. Crews from Green Acres Contracting will conduct the work requiring lane restrictions on the following bridges:
- Highland Park Bridge in Sharpsburg Borough and the City of Pittsburgh
- Bridges on the Boulevard of the Allies (Route 2208/885) between the Liberty and Birmingham bridges in the City of Pittsburgh
- The Liberty Bridge ramp to the Boulevard of the Allies in the City of Pittsburgh
Additionally, bridge washing activities with lane restrictions will be conducted by Michael Facchiano Contracting weekdays from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM through mid-June on the following bridges:
- Clairton-Glassport Bridge in the City of Clairton and Glassport Borough
- Mon City Bridge (Route 136) in Forward Township, Allegheny County and the City of Monongahela in Washington County
Additional restrictions may occur on associated ramps and intersections. Please stay alert and drive cautiously – safety is everyone’s responsibility.
