Route 1014 Hite Road Drainage Improvement Work Begins Monday in Springdale Township

Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing drainage improvement work on Hite Road (Route 1014) in Springdale Township, Allegheny County will begin on Monday, October 13 weather permitting.

Drainage work requiring the closure of a portion of Hite Road will occur from 7:00 AM Monday morning continuously through 5:00 PM Friday afternoon, October 17 between Pillow Avenue and Spring Street. Crews from A. Liberoni, Inc. will conduct drainage improvements including pipe replacement and inlet installation work. Traffic will be detoured.

West of the Closure

  • From Hite Road, take the ramp to northbound Route 28 toward Kittanning
  • From northbound Route 28, take the Pittsburgh Mills Boulevard off-ramp (Exit 12A)
  • Turn right onto Pittsburgh Mills Boulevard
  • Follow Pittsburgh Mills Boulevard to Tawney Run Road (Route 1014)
  • End detour

East of the Closure

  • From Tawney Run Road (Route 1014), turn onto Pittsburgh Mills Boulevard
  • Turn left onto the ramp to southbound Route 28 toward Pittsburgh
  • From southbound Route 28, take the Cheswick/Springdale off-ramp (Exit 12)
  • End detour
