Two Wide Loads Travelling Through Mercer, Lawrence, Butler, Clarion, Jefferson and Indiana Counties Today

Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is advising motorists that two wide loads are being transported today, June 29, through portions of Mercer, Lawrence, Butler, Clarion, Jefferson, and Indiana counties. 

The loads carry two sections of a diner that are 105 feet long, 14 feet wide, 15 feet tall and 145,000 pounds. The loads will travel from Mercer County to Indiana County on the following roads Route 718, Route 3008, Route 518, Route 18, Interstate 376, Route 208, Interstate 79, Interstate 80, Route 36, Route 436, Route 119 and Route 110.

Drivers should remain alert for this operation, which will travel at the posted speed limit or a minimum of 40 miles per hour.

On June 30, these loads will be travelling into Indiana Borough. From 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Philadelphia Street will be closed between the intersections of Fourth and Sixth Streets for the installation of the diner. Drivers will be detoured using Water Street and School Street. The sidewalk will be closed along Philadelphia Street between South Coulter Avenue and South Taylor Avenue. Motorists and pedestrians are not permitted within the closure area.
