Route 8 Resurfacing Project Begins March 2

Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing a resurfacing project on Route 8 in Butler and Center Townships, Butler County.

The project will begin March 2, with drainage improvements along Route 8 between the intersections of McCalmont Road/Vogel Road and Route 308. Motorists should use caution through the area as work will be during daylight hours.

This resurfacing project will include patching, drainage, paving and other miscellaneous construction along Route 8. The eight on- and off-ramps at the Route 8/Route 422 intersection will each be closed for night work at future dates to repave the ramps. Each ramp will be closed with a weekend detour to complete the work. Specific dates and detour information will be announced at a later date.

Contractor, Lindy Paving Inc. of New Galilee, PA will be completing this $13.6 million project estimated to be completed in early November 2026.
