Lane Restriction on Route 119 for Core Boring in Rayne Township

Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 10 is announcing a lane restriction between Craig Road and Washington Road on Route 119 in Indiana County will begin next week.

April 28 through May 15, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, there will be single lane restrictions as needed for geotechnical core boring. Borings are a sampling technique used to research mineral resources in the subsoil by boring cylinder-shaped holes to analyze the ground. In core boring, a sample of rock is extracted, which is known as a core.

Work is weather dependent. Flaggers will be controlling traffic; drivers should use caution and be alert for stopped traffic.

Drivers can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a free smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following local alerts on X.
