Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing a speed restriction on I-80 in Clarion and Jefferson Counties.
A speed restriction has been placed on I-80 in both directions between Exit 123: PA 970 Woodland/Shawville and the Ohio line. The speed limit has been reduced to 45 mph with Commercial Vehicles in the right lane only.
Restrictions are planned for certain vehicles during the storm, and will be communicated via variable message boards, the 511PA traveler information website and smartphone apps. Drivers can also sign up for personalized alerts on the website. Restrictions will be lifted as quickly as possible when conditions permit. Restrictions can be changed based on conditions on the roadways, and reports from first responders, law enforcement and PennDOT personnel.
Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles, including color-coded winter conditions on 2,900 miles, by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a free smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following local alerts on X.
