UPDATED: Resurfacing Project Begins July 21 in Indiana Borough

Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that portions of Philadelphia Street, South Sixth Street and Rose Street will be resurfaced July 21 through August 15 in Indiana Borough, Indiana County.

Milling will begin on July 21 along Philadelphia Street from 9th Street to East Pike Road and on South 6th Street from Carter Avenue to Philadelphia Street with patching and paving to follow. Work on Rose Street from Wayne Avenue to Oakland Avenue will begin on August 4 and work will continue through August 15.

Each roadway will be under a single-lane restriction with flaggers for a resurfacing project.  Work will occur during nighttime hours between 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM weather permitting.

Contractor, Quaker Sales Corporation of Johnstown, PA, will be completing this $3.1 million project which will also include the addition of Americans with Disabilities (ADA) ramp replacements and additional work on Route 119, estimated to be completed by the end of October 2025.
