Ramp and Bridge Work to Begin Wednesday on Route 268 in West Kittanning

Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that ramp and bridge work on the Route 268 overpass in West Kittanning, Armstrong County will begin September 24.

Work will begin on the bridge carrying Route 268 over Route 422 near West Kittanning.  This will affect the Route 422 eastbound off-ramp to Route 268 and the Route 268 eastbound on-ramp to Route 422. Temporary traffic controls will be in place starting at 7:00 AM September 24 through 26.  In the event of inclement weather, work will be moved to September 29 through October 1.

In addition to the Route 268-West Kittanning interchange, work locations also include Route 422 between Worthington Borough in Armstrong County, the intersection of Graham/Burke Road in Butler County and at the bridge spanning Lake Arthur in Moraine State Park in Butler County.  Contractor, Glenn O. Hawbaker, State College, PA will be completing this $15.6 million resurfacing project that concludes at the end of fall of 2025.
