Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing that PennEnergy Resources, LLC, MarkWest Liberty Bluestone, LLC and Vogel Disposal, Inc., have been approved for an Upgrade Partnership to improve Route 528 (Prospect Road) in Connoquenessing Township, Butler County.

The resurfacing project will improve the ride quality and build additional structure for bonded truck traffic currently traveling Route 528 (Prospect Road) from the intersection of Route 3030 (Harmony Road) to the intersection of T-343 (Woodlands Road). The project began on September 16 and is estimated to be completed by September 30, weather permitting.

Under the terms of the partnership, PennDOT and our partners will each contribute 50 percent of the approximate $500,000 project cost.

The three Companies listed above are supplying the asphalt material along with trucking for the material and which equals a 50 percent split in funds. PennDOT Butler County Maintenance Department will be placing the material as the additional 50 percent contribution via funding through the Upgrade Partnership Projects. The Governor’s office contributed $5,000,000 to the Upgrade Partnership Projects fund to be used across the state for 50 percent payment of Partnership Projects for the 2025/2026 fiscal year.
