Indiana Bypass Ramp Closures Next Week in White Township, Indiana County

Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing the closure of multiple Route 422 ramps for repairs the week of October 20 in White Township, Indiana County.

October 20 through October 22, traffic on eastbound Route 422 will be prohibited from exiting onto the Business Route 422 (Philadelphia Street) off-ramp at Watts Hill. In addition, the westbound Route 422 off-ramp to Business Route 422 at Watts Hill will be closed.  To detour, Business Route 422 motorists will travel Route 422 east to the Oakland Avenue exit, turn left onto Route 286, turn left onto Indian Springs Road, proceed onto Ben Franklin Road and then back to Business Route 422.  Motorist traveling Route 422 westbound will take the Oakland Avenue exit, turn right onto Route 286, turn left onto Indian Springs Road, proceed onto Ben Franklin Road and then back onto Business Route 422.  

October 22 through October 24, the Route 422 eastbound on-ramp from Business Route 422 and the on-ramp to Route 422 westbound will be closed. To detour motorists will travel Business Route 422, turn right onto Indian Springs Road (Ben Franklin Road), turn right onto Route 286, and take the Route 422/Route 56 Kittanning/Shelocta exit onto Route 422 westbound. 

Contractor, Derry Construction Co., Inc. of Latrobe, PA will be completing this $14.5 million project anticipated to be completed in December 2025.
