Gas Line Relocation Work Delayed Due to Weather on the Franklin Road Corridor Safety Improvement Project

Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing a change in dates to the gas line relocation on Franklin Road in Cranberry Township, Butler County.

Originally scheduled for December 13, the new date will be December 15.  Flagging with single-lane closures will occur 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, as the gas line is relocated along Franklin Road between the Route 228 and Hillmont Drive intersections. Work is weather dependent.

This is a safety improvement project that includes shoulder widening, installation of edge-line rumble strips, and sight distance improvements along Franklin Road.  This is a four-year project which has a current completion date in early November 2027. 

Contractor, Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. of State College, PA will be completing this four-year $19.1 million project.
