Eastbound Freedom Road Closures for Weekend Paving in Cranberry Township, Butler County

Indiana, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is announcing upcoming weekend paving on Freedom Road (Route 3020) in Cranberry Township, Butler County.

Paving on Freedom Road (Route 3020) between Powell Road (T-301) and Haine School Road (T-302) will be occurring over a three-weekend period. September 20 - 21, September 27 - 28 and October 4 – 5.  Freedom Road eastbound traffic will be detoured onto Powell Road (T-301), Rochester Road (Route 3022), Route 19 and back onto Freedom Road (Route 3020). October 11 - 12 is the rain date in the event of inclement weather.

Westbound Freedom Road (Route 3020) traffic will not be affected.

This project is an extension of Freedom Road project which includes new highway and turning lanes, widening, paving, drainage, signal upgrades/replacements, and lighting work with service and access roads, highway realignment and safety improvements and sidewalks. 

Contractor, Gulisek Construction, LLC of Mt. Pleasant, PA will be completing this $18 million project anticipated to be complete in November 2025.
