The new $1 million bridge that carries Route 408 over Mohawk Run in Rockdale Township, Crawford County opened today, four days earlier than originally scheduled.
The bridge is located approximately 750 feet east from the intersection of Route 408 and Greytown Hills Road (Route 1031).
The project to replace the former bridge with a box culvert began in late August. Work also included paving on each side of the bridge and updating the guide rail and line painting.
The contractor is C.H.& D. Enterprises of New Stanton, PA. The contract cost is $990,974.67, which is to be paid entirely with federal funds.
