A $1.45 million resurfacing project that will give motorists a smoother ride on more than 3.4 miles of Route 62 from Keel Ridge Road (Route 3011) in the City of Hermitage to Horvath Farms Road in Jefferson Township, Mercer County is scheduled to start later this month
The project includes base repairs, milling, paving, rumble strips, road paint, and guide rail updates.
Preliminary work is expected to begin May 26, 2026, with a majority of the work expected to begin June 15, 2026, weather permitting. It is expected to be completed in August 2026.
Drivers may encounter lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers and should be alert for traffic pattern shifts and lane restrictions. Drivers should anticipate travel delays during active work hours.
The contractor is Lindy Paving of New Galilee, PA. The contract cost is $1,459,112.75, which is to be paid entirely with state funds.
PennDOT urges drivers to slow down when driving in work zones, and also to be alert to changing conditions, avoid distractions and to pay attention to signs and flaggers. Drive responsibly in work zones for your safety and the safety of the workers.
