Drainage Work Underway on the 15th Street Hill in the City of Franklin, Venango County

Drivers should be alert for lane restrictions and traffic delays on the 15th Street hill (Route 62/Route 8) in the City of Franklin, Venango County throughout the remainder of the week.

Crews are working to replace drainage on the hill, which requires traffic to be restricted to one lane controlled by flaggers. Drivers of passenger vehicles are encouraged to use alternative routes during active work hours.

Changing traffic patterns are also expected on Liberty Street (Route 62/Route 322) in Franklin, as temporary traffic lights will be turned on at intersections with Eighth and 12th streets on June 2. In connection with the temporary signals at Eighth Street, drivers will not be permitted to turn right on red for the duration of the work there.

The temporary signals and lane restrictions are needed to complete work on the Route 62/322 Improvement Project. Read more about the project online at www.pa.gov/DOTDistrict1.

PennDOT urges drivers to slow down when driving in work zones, be alert to changing conditions, avoid distractions and to pay attention to signs and flaggers. Drive responsibly in work zones for your safety and the safety of the workers.
