Route 6 Reconstruction Project Continues with Work at Baldwin Street/Park Road

Detour to be in place starting August 18

As work on the final phase of the Route 6 Reconstruction Project continues, construction will start at the intersection with Baldwin Street/Park Road to tie it into the realigned roadway.

The work is expected to start August 18, 2025, and be in place for 20 days. A detour for Baldwin Street/Park Road will be posted using Route 6, and Baldwin Street Extension (Route 2037).

Drivers should be alert for traffic pattern changes, lane restrictions controlled by flaggers and other work happening throughout the work area from Reynolds Avenue in the City of Meadville to Baldwin Street Extension in West Mead Township.

The project started in August 2024 and is on schedule for completion in fall 2025.

The contractor is Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. of State College, PA. The contract cost is $16,616,006, which is to be paid with a combination of federal and state funds.

Additional information on the Route 6 Reconstruction Project is available online under the Projects Near You portion of the PennDOT website.
