A resurfacing project that will give motorists a smoother ride on seven local roads in the City of Erie, Erie County is scheduled to start September 22, 2025.
The project includes paving 0.86 miles total, including the following roadways:
- Franklin Avenue – East 18th Street to East 12th Street.
- East 10th Street – Holland Street to German Street.
- McClelland Avenue – Buffalo Road to Fairmont Parkway.
- Liberty Street – Peach Street to West 38th Street.
- East 5th Street – State Street to French Street.
- Raspberry Street – West 7th Street to West 6th Street.
- Washington Street – West 40th Street to West 38th Street.
Work will include milling, base repair, paving, roadway painting, and updated detection systems for the existing traffic signals.
Construction is expected to begin September 22, 2025, weather permitting, and is expected to be completed by December 12, 2025.
Drivers should be alert for traffic pattern shifts and lane restrictions, and anticipate travel delays during active work hours.
The contractor is Lindy Paving, Inc of New Galilee, PA. The contract cost is $606,271, which is to be paid entirely with federal funds provided by the Local Federal Aid Routes program.
