Continued Work on Interstate 79 Bridges in Mercer County Will Require Temporary Lane Restrictions

Drivers should be alert for temporary lane restrictions for both directions of Interstate 79 in Mercer County between mile markers 119 and 133 as crews make repairs to several bridges.

The work is in connection with a $3.2 million project that includes patching parts of I-79 in Crawford and Mercer Counties, patching stretches of Interstate 80 in Mercer and Venango counties, and making repairs to 10 total bridges, six of which are along I-79 in Mercer County.

Drivers should anticipate potential travel delays as the work is being completed.

Work will be completed as weather permits.

The contractor is Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. of State College, PA.

PennDOT urges motorists to slow down when driving in work zones, and also to be alert to changing conditions, avoid distractions and to pay attention to signs and flaggers. Drive responsibly in work zones for your safety and the safety of the workers.
