Outreach Sessions

Each spring, PennDOT invites you to join them for Municipal Outreach/Peer Exchange sessions where you can meet PennDOT District Staff, learn about projects, free resources, and other municipal support.

The workshops are intended for:

  • Municipal officials, planners, and engineers.
  • Community leaders and advocates.
  • Anyone interested in improving their local transportation systems.

All sessions are available virtually, and some are hybrid. The hybrid sessions will be held in-person at PennDOT District Offices and virtually at the same time. The registration will provide the physical address and the virtual link.

2026 Municipal Outreach Sessions

Learn about:

  • What is Happening in Your District: The Districts will provide contacts and share projects successes and projects in planning.
  • PennDOT’s One Map GIS Platform: The demo will provide practical uses for the mapping data.
  • Free Transportation Planning Resources: The PennDOT Municipal Resources program has free one-on-one support, one-hour drop ins (webinars), newsletters, and tech sheets to support municipal transportation planning.

The 2026 Workshop Agenda:

The municipal outreach/peer exchange sessions will consist of an interactive workshop that engage participants in peer exchange and idea-sharing. Municipalities will have the opportunity to interact with PennDOT, their local metropolitan planning organization or rural planning organization (MPO or RPO) staff, and one another. The sessions will include:

  • One Map Demonstration
    • The demo will provide a practical use for the data from One Map to support local transportation planning efforts.

    • Drop-ins and Trainings
  • Municipal Ideas on Program Resources
    • Municipalities will have the opportunity to share where they feel resources should be invested to support municipalities.

Note: These sessions focused on the resources available to municipalities through the PennDOT Municipal Resources Program and other sources and may not cover specific projects on the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) in PennDOT Districts.
