Work is part of resurfacing project from Huntington Place to Main Street
Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that an approximately 35-day detour is planned on Church Street (Route 3017) in East Hempfield Township, Lancaster County, so a curve in the road can be realigned.
Weather permitting, Church Street will be closed between Nolt Road and Bowman Road on Monday, May 1. The road is expected to reopen by Sunday, June 4.
A detour will be in place using Main Street/Harrisburg Pike (Route 4020), Route 741 (Roherstown Road), Route 23 (Marietta Avenue), and Stony Battery Road (Route 3017).
This work will be followed by a 75-day closure beginning June 12 so a new box culvert can be installed on Church Street just north of Stony Battery Road. The structure spans an unnamed tributary to Swarr Run at Four Seasons Golf Course. This closure will use the same detour as the curve realignment.
This work is included in a resurfacing project on Church Street that consists of milling and paving, ADA ramps upgrades, sidewalk improvements, drainage upgrades and other miscellaneous construction from Huntington Place in West Hempfield Township to Main Street at Landisville in East Hempfield Township.
JVI Group, Inc., is the contractor on this $3,529,995 project.
